Discounts

We will not be the cheapest number you see online.

Somebody on the internet will always name a lower price than ours. A broker can name any number he wants, because a broker is not the one driving. We own the trucks that run Florida to New England, so our price has to cover the diesel, the deck and the driver. What we can control is who gets money taken off. Three discounts, three codes, no coupon maze and no countdown clock.

Dollar amounts are set by the owner and quoted to you directly. Ask for yours when you call, and we will give you the discounted total before anything is signed.

How to use your code

  1. 1. Pick the one code that fits

MILITARY, WELCOMEBACK or STUDENT. One discount per vehicle, so there is no puzzle to solve. If two of them describe you, tell us both and we will apply the one that fits your shipment.

  2. 2. Give us the code before we book

Type it in the notes field on the quote form, or just say it on the phone at (941) 205-0012. Either way works. Do it before the truck is assigned so the number we quote you already has the discount inside it, instead of being a number you have to argue about later.

  3. 3. Send the proof once

Email the military ID, the DD-214, the student ID or the class schedule to info@lopesexpressshipping.com, or hand it to the driver at pickup and he will note it on the paperwork. Returning customers skip this step, and we will not ask you for the same document again on your next trip.

  4. 4. It comes off the final price, which is what you pay the driver

The discount is applied to the final price before the Bill of Lading is inspected and signed at pickup, so you can read it on the paperwork with the car still in front of you. It is already taken off the amount you hand the driver on delivery. There is no rebate to mail in and no check to wait for.

The rules, in plain English

  • One discount per vehicleEach car carries one code. If you are shipping two cars on the same trip, each car can carry its own discount, and they can be different codes.
  • Codes do not combineMILITARY, WELCOMEBACK and STUDENT cannot be stacked on the same vehicle. Tell us everything that applies to you and we will tell you which code we are putting on your order.
  • Proof is required, and it is simpleMilitary and student discounts need a document. An ID, a DD-214, a student ID or a class schedule, emailed in ahead or shown to the driver at pickup. That is the whole verification. Returning customers need nothing, because the old order is already on file with us.
  • It applies to the transport priceThe discount comes off the price of moving the car. Optional add-ons, like Top Load, are charged on top and are not discounted.
  • You see the discounted total before you commitWe give you the number with the discount already in it, before you agree to anything and before a truck is assigned. That number goes on the Bill of Lading at pickup, and it is what you pay on delivery. It does not climb once we have your car.

Why we would rather discount than lowball

A low quote is easy to give when you do not own the truck. A broker takes your number, posts your car on a load board, and waits for some stranger's truck to accept the price. When no truck accepts it, the price has to come up. That phone call reaches you after the deposit is gone, after the pickup window has already slipped a few days, and with your car still sitting in the driveway. The number was never a price. It was bait.

We cannot work that way. We own the trucks that run Florida to New England. Seven of them, and the drivers are our employees, on our payroll. Diesel, tires, tolls, insurance and a man's wages all come out of the number we give you. That is why our price sits where it sits, and it is also why it does not move after you say yes. Our published sample runs on this lane work out to about $1.10 a mile, larger vehicles like pickups and big SUVs cost more, and you will hear your number before anything is signed.

So instead of dangling a figure we would have to walk back later, we take money off for people who earned it. Somebody who served. Somebody who trusted us with the car last spring and is calling again this fall. A kid driving to school in September. Three discounts, one code each, no fine print maze and no expiration date invented to rush you into booking today. You will know the discounted total before you commit, and that is the amount you hand the driver when the car comes off the ramp.

Questions people ask about the discounts

Can I use two discounts on the same car?

No. One discount per vehicle, and the codes do not combine. Tell us everything that applies to you, veteran and returning customer both, and we will tell you which code is going on your order before you commit. If you are shipping more than one car, each car can carry its own discount.

Do I have to pay something upfront to lock in the discount?

No. There is no deposit and nothing is due upfront on any of our shipments, discount or not. Payment is due on delivery. The discount is simply part of the price we quote you, written into the Bill of Lading at pickup, and taken off what you pay the driver at the other end.

What if I forget to mention the code when I book?

Tell the driver before he inspects and signs the Bill of Lading at pickup. He can note it on the paperwork and the price is corrected right there, with you standing next to the car. Once that document is signed by both parties at pickup, the price on it is the price, so the sooner you say the code the better. Easiest thing is to put it in the notes field of the quote form or say it on the phone.

I shipped a car with you a few years ago. Does that still count?

Yes. There is no cutoff on WELCOMEBACK. Give us the name and phone number you used on the old order and we will look for it on our end. Older trips were written on paper, so if the file does not turn up, the cities and the month are usually enough for us to match it.

Is the discounted number really what I pay on delivery?

Yes. We quote one number with the discount already in it, that number is on the Bill of Lading you sign at pickup, and it is the amount due when the car is unloaded and the second inspection is signed at delivery. Your price does not go up because the truck filled slowly or fuel moved. On timing, we give you a window, not a promise, but the number is settled before the truck leaves your driveway.

Say your code when you call.

One road. Both directions. All season. Call or text (941) 205-0012, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM Eastern, or send the pickup city, the delivery city and the vehicle to info@lopesexpressshipping.com. We speak English and Portuguese. You get the discounted total before you commit, and nothing is due until the car is delivered.
